Deirdre Ní Fhloinn

Qualifications

  • LL.B from Trinity College
  • LL.M in European law (with distinction) from UCD 
  • In 2006, was awarded an MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution (with merit) from King’s College, London, and now lectures on that MSc programme
  • Deirdre is a solicitor admitted in Ireland, England and Wales

Experience

  • Senior associate in the business law team at Reddy Charlton for a number of years, where she developed a specialist practice in construction law
  • Extensive experience as a commercial and construction lawyer, and has acted on infrastructure, construction, equipment supply and professional services contracts.  These comprise a wide range of projects in Ireland and the UK including residential developments, a football stadium, hotels and rail infrastructure. 
  • Has particular expertise in Public Procurement. 
  • Lectures and advises on building control and has given a number of seminars on the topic of the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations.
  • From 2005 to 2011 Deirdre worked in the legal department of London Underground as a senior lawyer.  She advised on major construction and procurement projects in connection with the upgrade and maintenance of the London Underground network and on the consequences of the insolvency of contractors.
