Construction

Seasoned construction professionals know from bitter experience the importance of properly drafted contracts.  Reddy Charlton has advised clients in most aspects of the construction process including employers, contractors, consultants and investors.  We recognise that there are different perils and pitfalls attaching to each role.  So whether the project is large or small and whatever your role in it, we can advise and assist you to ensure your position is protected.

What we do

We can assist with the diverse aspects of the construction process from appointment of consultants to resolution of disputes.  Whether you require a bespoke contract for your project or advice on your obligations under a standard form of construction contract we can assist.  Areas in which we have particular experience include:-

  • Building contracts (traditional and design and build)
  • Consultant appointments
  • Collateral Warranties
  • Contract enforcement and dispute resolution

What we have done for others

Croke Park Stadium was redeveloped in four phases over the course of more than a decade and was completed in 2005.  Reddy Charlton advised the GAA in relation to each phase.  The initial phases were completed using traditional procurement methods and a modified form of the Irish standard building contracts.  The final phase was completed as a design and build project and a bespoke building contract was drafted by Reddy Charlton for that purpose.

The particular achievement with the redevelopment of Croke Park was that in all the years it took to complete, no games were missed at the stadium!  Facilitating this gave rise to attendant issues such as partial and temporary possession of the site and the associated insurance, liability and contractual concerns.

Croke Park was the first stadium in the world to achieve BS 8901 certification for sustainable event management and the stadium won the RIAI gold medal for design excellence.

Indaver is building the first large scale waste to energy facility in Ireland. We have devised and advised on the building contracts and the design team appointments governed by Irish law.

The firm has advised in a number of other large construction projects including the construction of a number of hotels, mixed use blocks, offices and turn-key contracts for specialist industrial buildings.

Our team comprises Paul Keane and Elaine McGrath.
